San Diego Through the Lens
In this project, we got in groups of 2-4 of our choice of people and as a group. We had to research one neighborhood in San Diego so later, we could make our documentary that would be about our community. Ways we found our research was by searching online, reading books, finding pictures, and traveling to our neighborhood to take pictures and interview people that live in our community. For this project, I chose to work with my really close friends Gisselle and Elizabeth and as a group, we studied Pacific Beach.
During this project, it was very important to split up the work evenly so every one had the same amount of work and we all always had something to be working on. In the group I chose to work with, we all took on a leadership of being in charge of something. We all kind of took turns. When I took on the leadership, I was in charge of making sure we were organized. I also took care of all the photos so when we needed to develop our film fro our pinhole cameras, I went after school and sometimes before school to make sure that was done. Another thing I was in charge of was narrating Changes over time.
During this project, I learned many things. When we started this project, I knew absolutely nothing about Pacific Beach. I originally thought Pacific Beach was Ocean Beach. Now, I know the difference between the two beaches and I know the history of Pacific Beach. I enjoyed being able to work with my friends because I got to know them alot more and I had alot of fun with them. We all got to try new things together and we made alot of memories during this project. If I got to do this project again, I would try more things out and be more adventurous but I wouldn't change my group members because they were literately the best group members I have ever had.
