Biology Honors
The honors in this class was pretty straight forward; create something that has to do with biology. We each made our own rubrics for our honor projects. Below are pictures of the process of my project.
I met Sapphire the Loggerhead sea turtle in January during my internship. I got the chance learn about her past and be apart of the crew who takes care of her everyday. After my internship, I was so fascinated by her and her past, I decided to do my honors project about her. My original idea was to make a wooden clock in the shape of a sea turtle and then write a small essay about Sapphire the sea turtle and her story. When I started, I realized I didn't know how to do that at all and I didn't want Will to do the project for me so I changed it. Instead of doing that, I decided to stick with the wooden clock idea but not make it into a shape of a sea turtle, I used four pieces of wood and mix-matched the sizes to give it the look as shown below. To incorporate biology in the new design, where the numbers would be on the clock, I painted little sea turtles and put the numbers on their shells.
