Elements of Art Cube:
For the first two weeks of second semester, we learned about the elements of art. Chris did quick lessons on 7 elements of art and then we drew those elements and put them on cubes.

Reflection: Learning/Process
Process:
For the first week of this project, our multimedia teacher Chris, gave us a mini lesson on each element of art. He would explain the definition and draw pictures so we could understand that element of art. After the mini lesson, we would get seven minutes to draw our first daft and then five minutes to get feedback. When we got our packets back from getting it critiqued, we then got ten minutes to draw our second draft. Once those ten minutes were up, we got 5 minutes to get feedback again but from a different person. When our critiquer was done, we got thirteen minutes to make our third draft. When everyone was finished with their third draft, Chris did the next mini lesson on a different element of art.
After Chris taught us all the elements of arts, he went around to each student to check all their elements of art to see if they all matched the definition and if they did, he checked you off and you could start drawing your final draft on card stock.
Learning:
During this project, I learned a lot and honestly, I already learned about most of the elements in eighth grade but over time I forgot and I didn't know much about them. My teacher went over them briefly and didn't teach us all of them like Chris did. So in the project, I got a better understanding of each of the elements and how I can draw them. I also learned about famous artist who are known for each of these elements that Chris taught us.
From the feedback aspect of this project, I learned that your suppose to give feedback like how you make a sandwich; Kindness first to represent the bread, what they need to fix in the middle as if its the meat, and then more kindness to end it like the bottom piece of bread. This was helpful to learn because I was always taught kindness first and then the actual feedback and that it. Nobody has ever compared it to a sandwich or anything so I thought that was helpful and neat. Also from the feedback, I learned what kind of feedback is actually helpful and whats not. That sandwich reference is a great way to deliver and receive good feedback. If you just tell me "That looks good", that's not helpful at all because your not telling me how I can improve my work. What you could say instead is "That goods good but next time use a ruler to have straighter lines and add some more color into it. If you use markers, It also might make this look better. Other then that, It looks really good." That feedback is alot better because you gave me something to work with. I don't have to accept all of your feedback but you did give me some that I can use. Also, to be more helpful, you could draw a picture to give me a better understanding of what you meant by your feedback.
When it comes to the revision process, I learned that the first draft is never going to be perfect and there is always room for improvement. I also learned more about myself. I now know how impatient I can be and how i need to work more on taking my time when I'm doing my final.

Youtube Project
For this project, everyone in the class go in a group of maximum four people and created a youtube channel. I got in a group with two other students and created a channel by the name of Sparks Challenges. On this channel, we would film ourselves doing challenges and then take turn editing them so we could post it. Below is a link to our channel and then the four videos we posted.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq97Rg0swLBWHpNcZaYIFzw
In this challenge, Marina (on the far left/Blonde), ANgel (midde), and me (far right), wrote down over 25 mini challenges to do under seven seconds so during the video, we would choose a challenge at random and try to complete the challenge. whoever had the most amount of points from completing the challenges correctly, had a chance to wear a crown for the rest of the video.
|
In this video, we had two of out other friends find us random trivia questions to ask us and the person at the end of the video with the least amount of points, were forced to eat a really sour candy as a punishment. Winner wore a crown at for the end of the video.
|
This was one of our hardest videos to edit due to how long our footage was from filming. In this video, one person wears headphones with really loud music playing so the other two people try to lip read a phrase for the headphone user to understand.
|
This was one of my favorite videos because how much fun it was to film it. In this video, us girls brought most of out makeup and had three other boys try to do our makeup in a certain amount of time. At the end, one of our student teachers was the judge and picked out her favorite makeup.
